Stephanie Berry

As the raucously entertaining follow-up to Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, the Classical Theatre of Harlem’s new production, Malvolio, features a diverse cast of top tier actors, including West Harlem’s own Broadway powerhouse performer, Stephanie Berry.  

Playing the beautiful noblewoman of Illyria, Olivia, Stephanie Berry’s considerable talent both on and off stage has made her a longtime advocate for artistic and cultural advancement in West Harlem. 

She is the 2023 recipient of an OBIE Award for Performance, for her role in On Sugarland at the New York Theatre Workshop. She was nominated for the 2023 Drama League Distinguished Performance Award for bandaged place, which premiered at the Roundabout Theatre. 

A veteran actress of stage, television, and films, she has recurred in the TV series, Fantasy Island. Other film credits include Before You Know It, O.G., Delivery Man, Invasion, No Reservations and Finding Forrester. Other tv credits include Luke Cage, The Last OG, Bull, Blue Bloods, Blacklist, and all the Law-and-Order Shows.

She is the recipient of an OBIE for her solo show, THE SHANEEQUA CHRONICLES, a coming-of-age story in West Harlem; the 2022 New Professional Theatre’s Award for Activism, and the 2021 League of Professional Theatre Women’s Lee Reynold’s Award.. 

A founder of Blackberry Productions, a West Harlem based Documentary Theater Company that develops works that address critical issues facing our communities, she conceived the company’s COPP Project, a two-year intervention strategy that involves members of the NYPD and youth and designed to build trust and facilitate reconciliation in the wake of national outrage over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
